A little bit about me

Hello.

My name is Jad Adib Charif, I am as of this moment seventeen years old, and currently enrolled in my first year at AUB.

Before I came to AUB I had spent my entire life, fifteen years of it at least, next door at ACS where I was practically raised by the community surrounding me. Although I spent most of my time surrounded by those walls I can characterize my most influential moment there in one word. Swimming. Swimming is my passion. This is the only sport I consider as not a sport but as almost a meditation where I can relax and fly through the water without a care in the world. From third through twelfth grade I spent every afternoon with Coach Beydoun training myself in the water and resting after a long day at school.

Aside from swimming I am an avid movie fan especially of Quentin Tarantino and older Mafia films. I am both amazed and baffled by Tarantino’s ability to spin such a jumbled thread and still manage to connect every event and movie he’s made to one another effectively creating his own universe within his films. From Pulp Fiction to Django Unchained I’ve watched and loved almost every flick Tarantino has made.

On a more academic end I am currently a first year Bio Student studying in a pre-med program with the aim of becoming a future neurosurgeon

. I understand that this is an extremely long path but I am willing to put the time and effort into my studies while still allowing time to relax and enjoy my weekends.

This is a little insight to my life and I hoped you enjoyed learning about my upbringing.

  1. Your not the only swimmer in class. We have three or so. A PhD in English takes as long as a neurology degree. Just saying...
