"The Revolution Will Not Be Polite: The Issue of Nice versus Good"

In her blog, Rachel sheds the light on the issue of the misconception of social justice, and most importantly the major mix up between “nice” and “good”. According to her, social justice is where everyone in the world is treated equally good, not nice! Oppressors tend to be nice, or polite, to the oppressed, so they cover up their “non-good” work, thus gaining unfair privileges. The blogger wants to see the world more directed to being ethically good than nice, because that’s where social justice can be achieved. She also tried to highlight how niceness is being used in society recently, mainly used to dominate the weak “victims” of society. Society must take a step to “revolt” on these social norms, and when it does, it will not be “polite”.

  1. Please refer to Moodle for your grade. The weaknesses in this summary are: 1. You have a great Main Idea, but the order of the ideas that follow do not follow the order of the ideas of the text, as such it doesn't come off as a summary, but rather as an interpretation of the text.
