summary

Rachael in "The Revolution Will Not Be Polite: The Issue of Nice Versus Good" deals with the difference between being nice and being good and its relation to social justice. People associate the state of being nice with social justice. This association of nice with good is leading the confused people to be abused by other people, thus be controlled and oppressed. Rachael adds another aspect of it with the conflation of meanness and oppression. Therefore this confusion between niceness and goodness, between meanness and oppression is being used as a strategy by the real oppressors and that is making the marginalized people unaware about their rights and opportunities. In order to achieve social justice, people should stop confusing these different matters and react by putting niceness aside.

  1. Check moodle for your grade. The main idea is too broad. "is leading the confused people to be abused by other people" Bad Grammar. "Rachael adds another aspect of it with the conflation of meanness and oppression" what is this conflation?
