To begin with, and in contrast to
what the writer has stated in the text, “There is absolutely zero scientific
prove that going vegetarian is healthy”, there are actually millions of proof
that a vegetarian diet is a healthier diet. For instance, Physicians have
concluded that “vegetarians have much lower cholesterol levels than
meat-eaters, and heart disease is less common in vegetarians.” Furthermore it
is very perceptible nowadays that being vegetarian actually prevents cancer “Studies
of vegetarians shows that death rates from cancer are only about one half to
three-quarters of the general population’s death rate”. Finally, the writer of
the text claims that vegetarians “aren’t saving the lives of animals but instead
“killing all the little animals, birds, bugs, and microorganisms that live
among the field; however, getting our seeds from the field doesn’t kill these
animals but instead by planting we are actually building a shelter for them. As
a matter of fact, we have never heard of extinction of a kind of birds due to
farming or plant eating!
Nevertheless, the writer might
have a point in one thing or two. As it is not necessarily a must that the vegetarian
diet is the healthiest of all. A
meat-eater who balances between all the types of food he/she intakes is also
considered to have a healthy diet. After all there isn’t only one sacred rule
for being healthy. In addition, meat-eaters might be in taking some proteins
vegetarians lack. Also it is actually true that both darks green vegetables and
meat give the same amount of protein, however the quantity of broccoli that
must be digested to serve this amount is almost more than double that of meat. Despite
all the diseases meat has caused, it has also at some point proved to augment
human health and body.
