is an argument about the misunderstanding of the difference between ethical and
polite behavior, and how this allows oppression to flourish. Oppressive acts
are hidden under the image of ‘nice’, as niceness often connotes to goodness. From
this confusion, people misunderstand the definitions of social justice and
privilege, assuming it is about being nice. This feeds into the unfair
treatment of marginalized people, hence the terms ‘manners’ and ‘tone’ are used
to control the oppressed. Good behavior and nice behavior are not related, and
oppressors use this confusion as an instrument in their cause. Ultimately, social
justice is not linked to a nicer world; it is about a more just world, where
the people are given back their respective rights, regardless of their
niceness.
Check out moodle for your grade. The wording of the main idea could be more clear. The way you express the authors ideas can be a little more accurate and on the mark. Though they come very close. The last sentence is exact. Compare the last sentence to the earlier sentences to the text. See how sometimes you draw meanings that are not necessarily what the author is saying, but almost what she is saying.
